"23 Days in July is one of the best films' ever made on the Tour de France."

" A hidden classic of Australian cinema....."

This brilliant documentary film follows the progress of the legendary Australian cyclist Phil Anderson in his quest for the winner's yellow jersey in the the 1983 Tour (won by Laurent Fignon). Hopes were high that he could achieve this following his 5th place in 1982, when he held the jersey for several days and took a stage victory. In 1981 he achieved worldwide fame when he became the first Australian to wear the maillot jaune in his very first tour.

His victory in the classic, Amsted Gold in the spring of 1983 was prove that he was a winner, and this marvelous film follows Phil in his attempt to win the sport's biggest prize. Anderson riding for the Peugeot team, discusses his training and strategy for winning the Tour, while veteran cycling journalists John Wilcockson ( Velo News) and Phil Ligget provide analysis and day-to-day coverage of the race.

Produced and directed by Tim Sullivan.

Tim Sullivan spent most of his career in the Australian film industry and made over 200 films, but it was his documentary on the Tour de France that was perhaps his best known work.

Those who saw it -- either from a vantage point on the Champs-Elysees or on television -- will never forget counting down the seconds as Laurent Fignon sprinted in vain to the finish line in the final time trial in Paris. LeMond had been at death's door after a shooting accident early in 1987 and was riding in his first Tour since winning in 1986.

After an incredible three weeks that saw the maillot jaune switch between the American and Frenchman, LeMond trailed Fignon by 50 seconds overall going into the final time trial in Paris. No one gave him much chance of clawing back that time in just 24.5 kilometers, but the new triathlon-style handlebars were a distinct advantage as he beat Fignon by 58 seconds. After 3,285 kilometers of racing, a mere eight seconds separated the two men overall. It doesn't get better than that!

"Nothing like this has ever been available before to US audiences. The video of the 1989 Tour is nothing short of phenomenal." - VeloNews.

"Magnificent! This is how cycling should be presented." - The Washington Times.

"This is a must-have DVD for anyone who's even remotely interested in bicycle racing."

2007 Giro d'Italia DVD with2007 Milan-San Remo at no extra cost

The Killer Rides In Italy, May 2007. In the nation that is cycling?s powerhouse, the sport?s throne lies empty. To decide the successor, there is only one true test of strength which counts: the 2000-mile Giro d?Italia.

With no clear master, this year?s Giro witnessed a genuine two-wheeled revolution: in an epic roller coaster of early success followed by long moments of doubt and suspense, Classics specialist Danilo Di Luca overcame a host of stage racing stars to take his first ever major Tour.

Victory in the opening team time trial sets up initial leader Di Luca as the unwilling target for a non-stop avalanche of attacks on his precarious grip on power.

Amongst Di Luca?s most doughty rivals is the multi-headed hydra of the Spanish Saunier Duval team. Bristling with climbers ranging from grizzled veteran Gilberto Simoni and Iban Mayo to the new - but equally dangerous - kid on the block Ricardo Ricco, Di Luca soon finds himself with his back against the wall.

But the 31-year-old is not known as ?Il Killer? for nothing. An early victory on the mist-enshrouded Montevirgine climb is followed by a stalwart defense of his title in the Alps and Dolomites. However, Di Luca slowly finds himself losing control. Nor can he breathe easier as the race?s final destination looms. Instead a new threat - in the shape of brash young pretender Andy Schleck - takes shape, and the last challenge for Di Luca is a rainlashed time trial precisely the terrain where he is at his most vulnerable.

A painstaking record of Di Luca?s tortuous rise to power, this 2007 Giro D?Italia DVD is a gripping visual tribute to one man?s courage and determination in the sporting event closest to his heart. Commentary by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen.

2007 Tour de France 4-Hr DVD Now Shipping! 2-Disc Set!

THE TOUR REDISCOVERED After perhaps the darkest hours in the history of the Tour de France, the 2007 race concluded with a ray of sunshine and glimmers of hope that the sport of cycling has entered a new era that will be free of doping scandals and marked by restored trust in the minds of its millions of fans.

Such was the impact of the victory of 24-year-old Alberto Contador on the Champs Elysees. Molded by the hands of Tour Kingmake Johan Bruyneel and Discovery Channel ? the power and the team behind Lance Armstrong?s seven Tour victories ? the young Spaniard had to face numerous obstacles en route to success. It was an astounding finale to the American team?s last Tour de France!

A gifted climber, the Madrid-born rider first let rip on the daunting Galibier deep in the Alps as part of a daring two-rider attack. Then he came even closer to yellow with one of the most memorable mountain victories of the decade, deep in the Pyrenees on the fabled Plateau de Beille. Is it just a coincidence that on two occasions, Armstrong himself sealed the Tour there?

The final step to leadership came in a surprising twist that not even Bruyneel could have predicted or engineered. No sooner had Contador taken the yellow jersey than he had to mount his final defense in the terrain where he was weakest ? the time trial. Hailed as the new Armstrong for his aggressiveness, strength and racing wisdom even in the most tumultuous of Tours, Contador?s path to cycling?s ultimate prize is a gripping tale of persistence in the face of sporting turmoil, self-belief in times of doubt and widespread cynicism, and courage in the darkest of dark times. This video presents a storybook triumph in the midst of real-world adversity! Don?t miss it! Learn More
